Hi there, thank you for stopping by to the Chaz Delights Nutrition blog. My name is Chantal and here you will find my reflections as I go about this life seeking to follow a plant-based diet. I am here to share my journey with you and hopefully inspire and equip you to make healthier, more sustainable choices towards a better you and world.

So first, I am in my 20’s, born in Jamaican now and now living in England. My mother has always been big on nutrition and eating healthy and this rubbed off on me over the years. My earliest most significant memory of this was when, as a child living in Jamaica, I asked my mum if I could take a serving of purple cabbage with me to school because there wasn’t enough salad, if any at all served with the school lunches. Fast-forward 10 years and I then make the decision to study Dietetics at University with the hopes of gaining a deeper knowledge of nutrition, to be able to help others to make better food choices.

My journey towards being completely plant-based began when I was in my first year of university. I am a Christian (Seventh-day Adventist) and I became convicted that I needed to become vegetarian (I’ll write more about that in a future blog post). A few months later after attending a church residential training and whilst there I went without eating dairy and after some time, my body completely rejected all things dairy. I was propelled into living life without dairy (oh how I miss cheese and its relatives). Initially it was tricky and a little boring, (I’ll be honest) but after some time I recognised that being plant-based had huge advantages (you’ll see that in a future blog post) and over the years I became pro-active and started to experiment and be more creative with the wonderful possibilities of this new world. So out of my love for taking pictures and trying new things in the kitchen, Chaz Delights was birthed. So, whether you are vegan/plant-based, aspire to ditch the meat and dairy one day or have no such aspirations, may Chaz Delights Nutrition be a source of inspiration to you. I hope that Chaz Delights Nutrition may assist you in making healthy choices with your diet and lifestyle every day.
